Split across two semesters, this course is intended as an introduction to the study of the Spanish and French languages and cultures. Students will work toward a beginning level of competency in the areas of speaking and listening skills. Everyday vocabulary, basic grammar, and pronunciation will be emphasized. Students will receive an initial exposure to the culture of the language being studied.

Advanced language study is strongly encouraged for the college-bound student.
