Quality Point Average
The QPA is calculated using the values from the scale below. Partial credit courses are adjusted accordingly. Advanced level courses are designated as “weighted courses” and are worth an extra 0.5 or 1.0 point, as designated, due to their accelerated academic nature. QPA is not rounded off. Honors courses have a Weighted QPA on a 4.500 scale. College in High School (CHS) courses have a Weighted QPA on a 5.000 scale. To earn the Weighted CHS QPA at Geibel Catholic, students must enroll in the course through the participating College or University. Students who enroll in the course at Geibel Catholic but do NOT enroll through the coordinating College or University will earn the Standard High School QPA for the course.
