Outside of the typical school day and building, there are many events that can help students gain valuable skills, experiences, and awards. This page is divided into several categories that provide those events. Academic Opportunities are typically camps, event weekends, or special enrollments related to a student’s academic area of interest or leadership skills. Contests are themed contests related to the sponsoring program’s interests (brand product, art, music, speech, faith, writing, etc.). These contests are generally open to all teenagers, but be sure to read the requirements carefully. Volunteer Opportunities are listings for area businesses or non-profit organizations that regularly work with high school students. Similarly, Job Opportunities can be a great place to look for summer or part-time employment options. Lastly, the Diocese of Greensburg offers a program for young men who would like to prayerfully discern God’s call for Vocations.
